Tokyo Z shop KAMIKAZE was created by WPBill
Folks:

Your humble spy here in Japan. Stopped by a Z specialty shop in Tokyo yesterday, snapped some pics and thought I'd share them here. Shop's name is KAMIKAZE. It is mostly a repair and restoration shop, not too much custom work. About the only part they manufacture is the UK style aluminium fork reflectors. The shop buys Stanley orange reflectors, removes the lens, and replaces it with the aluminium one of their manufacture. Looks more authentic that way. A special Z book, Tokyo Z, features the shop's work. About 5/6ths of the magazine is devoted to the bikes Kamikaze worked on, the rest of the book has interviews with the guy that designed the Z-1, stuff like that. Anyway, enough babble, onto the pics. Lots of MB, so I've thumbnailed all but the two teasers.

Next stop: MID KNIGHT
I actually went there last week, but they had closed for the day already:(

Very nice pics looks like they got plenty of parts. Most are probably imported from the U.S. as they had cc restrictions back then.

Does Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki have a following for vintage bikes to over there?

Yes! In fact, I spotted an all brands but mostly UJM restoration shop the other day. Didn't have the time to stop, nor the camera then. Some day soon I'll make a trip there as well.

I also know the "Sandcast" has a very strong following out here.

No, but I'll keep an eye out for such trinkets during future shop visits.

I don't know about how much they charge for work, but they want 14000 yen for a set of them metal UK reflectors. That's about 160USD at the current exchange rate.
