manual for 1981 kz1000

(need help)in spelling too, looking for the best repair manual for 1981 kz1000 with bs34 carbs. having a slight problom with burrbbing back thrugh the carbs I have been reading on the sight you guys great with all the info out there thanks:S

The best manual is the original kawasaki manual. You can get it on eBay for not much money, I got mine for 8$

granted more than 8 bucks, but there are a lot of them out there...

That one from new zealand is apparently really good, spiral bound and nice glossy paper...

Shaft drive or chain drive? They are different manuals. I have a spare one for each if you are interested. PM me.

the inner pages finish flat i think...mines downstairs...but all of the re-print is from factory books and it contains great chapters added for each exact model or change...the print is nice and clear and dark lettered and it lays flat on the bench on whatever page you use due to the spiral backing...i "had" to get it cause i wanted an in -depth MKII added chapter...

But the normal factory 1981 kz1000 j "shop manual"is a great book too with many great used copies on e-bay and i also only paid like 18.00 bucks for mine and have used it with great detailed looks inside,cheap and factory shop manual is a good way to go... ....

oh yeah...one thing, when you do get one the cam cap bolts don't get tightened to 12 foot pounds. I wonder if the new zealand guy has that fixed in his manuals

i spun one on my J1000 or it was done by the P.O, and i just found it but either way, it is done now...i will only hand tighten to my touch from now on with cam caps...with a 1/4 mini ratchet...

SOOOOO true it should only be 100 Lb-In. I don't know why they changed it in the 1979 and later books. I made that correction in my books.
