Hello I have a few questions. I'm wanting to buy this 1975 KZ900. Its in real good shape it has been sitting for about 7 years and i believe it has factory vetter bags and fairing on it i know the bags are matching color and say kawasaki on them but the front fairing has been removed and i haven't seen it but comes with the bike. My first question would be is it conciderd a Z1 900 the build date is 8/75 and the vin is Z1F-500000. And the second would be what would be a good price for it or what would one be worth i have looked it over good and everything is in good shape never been on its side ( acording to the owner)
Sorry i dont have any pics if i buy it i will get them up soon!!

Thanks for your input
Chris

They're calling these 2 1975's "Z1". Notice the reserve hasn't been met yet, but the bids are working their way up:

Bike 1

Bike 2

Does yours have 4 pipes?

Yes, that frame number would put it in mid-production for a 1975 Z1-B. As far as price goes it counts on a lot of things. Theres 'in great shape' and then there's concours condition. The two Ed posted seem to be pretty close to concours but I would be surprised if either one sees the high side of 15k.

The 74 z1s are worth less than the 73's and the 75's less than both. From what you described it would be hard to give good advice on price as prices where I live are nuts. I did luck out and get a running, second owner '75 Z1 last year for about $1500. The year before, I paid not much less than that for a fairly complete 74 Z1 basket-case that had been sitting for 12 years.

They are Z1's, both frame numbers make them '75 Z1-B's

$700 is probably a good price just for the pipes!

Make sure to check the pipes as well, they often rot on the underside around the baffle. But $700 is a good price assuming the bike is in okay shape. A new reproduction set of 4-4 exhausts is $1500 alone

Your own words "it's in real good shape". $700 you cant go wrong unless the motor is blown or it has no title. Just my opinion. What are your plans if you get it? Please don't say you are going to hack it up, as you can see from the auctions they get a good dollar if in decent condition

Sounds like a good deal to me. Speaking of sound, taking out the "horsehair" packing around the baffles of '73-'75 4-4 pipes will give you a very nice exhaust note. No rejetting required, and the engine breathes a little better too.

Good luck with the bike!
