Can't figure out what bike this is

I was just given this bike by a guy I work with. He told me it was an 03 250 motorcycle. That is all he knows about it. Not title, no keys. I have been looking to try to even figure out the model of this bike. It says KZ250 and LTD on the side. Where the VIN would normally be such as on my hondas it says kz250d002003 stamped into the side and on the tag that has been riveted in. Anyone know if I'm looking in the wrong spot or even if they make the KZ250 in 03. Far as I can tell they stopped making them in the 80's.

Welcome to KZR...based on what you posted and the information on www.zedder.com , your bike is a 1980 KZ250 LTD. You are correct, the KZ's are 1980's vintage bikes...and the 250's were superceded by the 305's. Not many of the smaller cc Kawasaki's around and they are increasingly difficult to obtain maintenance parts for.

If it was an 03 it probly be pretty cool... big fairings, etc. :laugh:

Here it is. It is not as pretty as the picture makes it look. It was laid down on the other side. The signals are broken the mirror is broken off and the headlamp is all scratched up.
