Need info on an 86 LTD 454...

Might be looking at one for the Warden,if the owner wants to sell.Will be talking to her son today at some point.

What is the top speed of this bike,and does it have enough poop to pass safely,on the highway?
We do some longer rides,and would like to know how this bike will perform when we do.

That's my MAIN concern,but would love to hear ANY feedback about this particular model...

Suave's 454 site has quite a bit of info, including old articles w reviews from the day.

very cool and set up to clip along nicely...imo...the bars are to touchy ,being set up with the curves and risers...but they fly..i've ridden one and it left an impression as a great chick bike...they fly...

Well...finally got in touch with the owner,and we're going out later today to look at it.
So on that note...it's been a few years since I've looked at purchasing a bike(about 20 plus,lol)...the bike has been parked for about 15 years,so I know it's gonna have some issues and we won't be able to fire it up today.
It's got low miles(roughly 4 thousand)
Both the Warden and I are searching the net again,looking at pics and vids,trying to get an approximate value so I have an idea of what to make for an offer...any other input would be great,guys......

Hi Sandy, I picked one (86) for my wife nad just got it road worthy. I've put over a hundred miles on it and it's a great bike. I paid $450.00 for it and put $150.00 into her. Y ou can log onto en450.bestbb.net/index.php to a 454 Kaw site.

Bob,that bike is a BEAUT compared to the one we looked at!
What a shame...and absolute shame!
The bike has been sitting under a tarp for almost 16 years,but the roof on the porch had been leaking for a while and the bike has rust all over it.It's not TOOOOO bad and can be cleaned and some rechroming etc.,but the owner wants too much for it the way it sits.I left her my number and told her that if she is willing to lower the price to around the 500 dollar area,I might be interested(she was asking 3 times that).
And the bike only has about 1200 original miles on it,and she is the original owner.
We'are still looking and the Warden put an ad in the paper.

Yes the bike is a beaut and I got her for the right price. I've a total of $600. into her, plus $60.00 for a shorty windshield with free shipping from Ebay . Took all of 10 minutes to install.I've put a couple hundred miles on her and all seems well for now. The bike has no dents and just a few spots of surface rust. All will clean up. I believe this bike sat for more than a couple of years.Bob
