Should i trade?

I found a 1976 KZ900 on CL about a month ago and i figured i would call him up to see if he wanted to do a trade. The bike he has looks pretty good. Definately needs some cleaning up in the wiring and the carbs will need to be gone through. The bike runs and rides but its a hardtail and his wife doesn't like to ride on the back. My bike is not a hardtail and has the stock suspension. I sent him a video of my KZ1000 and he thought that it looked good and he said he would talk to his wife about it. Heres some pics of his bike. Do you guys think i should trade for it?

Do you guys think that the way he hardtailed it is ok? just looks a bit unsturdy to me. How much do you guys think this bike is worth? should i trade?

I can see why the guys wife doesn't like to ride 2 up on that 900 :blink: :laugh:

Really? i thought that the old 900s were worth a really pretty penny.. hmmm. i guess best 3 outta five? lets see what some of the others say before i make my decision:D not that your guys's comments arent enough already. I though she looked kinda awesome too.

well if you had an extra swingarm and a bunch of other parts to fix the screwed up stuff on there it might not be a bad bike for $750-800 if it runs ,but i wouldnt trade anything better than a tired kz650 for it as it sits :laugh:
look closely at how the swingarm is extended,and google torsional stress! :woohoo:

These bikes are always worth more in original condition! That chop job looks unprofessional. The only way i would buy this bike is if i could fix it, or swap everything onto a normal frame.

I guess the bike runs and rides great and is even road worthy for the 80 mile drive back to where i live from there. Motor is great. No snapping valves or burning oil. I don't think that there is even seepage.
