No money involved Steve. I had gotten a free 78 650 awile back and Mark needed an engine. He asked how much and of course I said not a penny. He then said he would do my painting. Worked out well for both of us. His bike is back on the road and mine's purdy again! I went to his house to pick up the painted parts and the rolling chassis. He asked if I wanted the rest of the bike back and I said not really so I gave it to him. He has a project in mind. A few small items and she is done but the paint and seat bring it up tp 95% done.

I don't think Ron likes any repaint, he must have been burned by a bad paint shop once so we're all bad.
I was just going to do the tank and tail but I couldn't get the side cast to look right so I painted a pair of side covers to get it all one color. I found my problem with one of the covers John gave me , it had a purple base with candy blue over it. Now I can match that Luminous Blue spot on.

It's always puzzling to me when folks put body parts & chrome parts directly on concrete. Especially nice parts. Although it doesn't apply here, more so when they're trying to sell them.
Just set them down softly and don't let them slide around.

Awesome work by Mark as usual.

Yes, it's fairly normal. A small piece of moleskin attached to the underside of the seat in the front will prevent / limit the rub marks on the tank.
