period KZ650 racing pic- FOUND!

Hello there,

posting this here for no better place,

Going ahead with the 650/750 vintage racer project.

The organizers are now asking me any reference from period magazines that show a KZ650 in road racing trim.

Turns out that as i will be the first one racing a z650 in the club, they would like to have some proof that it has been raced back then.

If any of you have any old shots in magazines, i'd love ot hear form you

I wish I could remember the name of the book but it was a road racing technique book and the author opened with an anecdote about racing a KZ650 in 1977 around Indianapolis I think. I wish i could remember.

If this is a vintage series what are the other guys racing? You should have NO problems proving its racing heritage.

There are a few members racing in the vintage class so I am sure they will help you out.

i'll try finding it later again..i searched for a while and no luck yet....there is a pretty common black and white photo of an old school racer...bigger name too..not Reg Pridmore but mighta been...leaning a kz650 vetter/racing? slightly modified mag wheeled 650....i had it on an old laptop....it somehwere in a thread about misc motorcycle pics by a member kz1pp i think...anyways...i know this to be a real photo of them racing a 650 early in production racing history...maybe some others know this shot...white leathers..white 650..black and white shot..old/way old helmet too...

I race in italy and ill be up against mostly Guzzi's & Ducatis 750 and the odd Triumph triple and Honda 650. The KZ650 was not very common here, rather scarce, so none racing. For now....

I think I may have a magazine with some 650 racing history.
I'll have a look.
There are some magazine articles here articles.kz650.info/index.php , but I don't think a 1977 KZ650 Bonneville would do.

I think roy-b-boy-b has a pic of one in race trim from mid ohio. I will see if I can dig it up for ya

Thanks Kawi, but i need a scan of a magazine book from 1976-78. A racing picture that is clearly period might work too.

Shame that my cycle magazine collection goes back only to 1980....
