Wall of Dumb-ass /WTF Images....

My first ever head swap was on a 1988 Grand Am with the Quad Crack-a-head-a-week Four engine that had cracked (for the second time). Took me months. By the time I got it back together, at least one main bearings were shot (no shop so the car sat outside with the head off the whole time) and the car had traveled through the ditch (turned the car off while driving as the engine was overheating and the steering lock engaged while rolling). It's still sitting at my parent's farm as a reminder...

I rebuilt a 2.0 turbo pontiac and used a screwdriver to feel for TDC through the plug hole.When i pulled the screwdriver out I noticed that the end was broken off and thought "Well it mustve been like that to start with all Ive done is follow the piston up with it" Finished the rebuild put back in car and fired it up.Ran for about 4.8 seconds and stopped with a really bad noise.Took the head off and guess what I found.(I keep this in my toolbox to remind myself to not be a dumbasshttp://yfrog.com/jb002bdj

Seeing how this thread has turned into what it is, I have moved it to the appropriate forum. Obviously not all bike related but "bike related chitchat" is where it's going for now. If there is enough interest we can sticky it.

My uncle did that with his F350. Ran him over and really did a number on him, we're lucky he's not dead. It really is funny in retrospect hehe.

i tried to reach up and let the brake off a tad on a big old fashioned tractor to get a choker some more slack and hook it to a log...i only needed an inch or two and was jammed up tigh behind the rear wheels and the log....that big ass feild tractor jumped into reverse and proceeded to try and trials ride over me and the log.......i was trapped between the two rear wheels and could'nt free myself....

that was one the almost died times.......tried to do a pull up from the third to forth floor in a snowstorm when i was an ironworker in my twenties...showing off i guess......slipped on some ice sheet on top of the beam.....and fell 35 feet...into 3" of snow......walked away and got really drunk that night....everyone buying me drinks....

used to dive head first/one and half flips/and back flips.... off 50 ft cliffs for kicks.....ect...ect

So far nothing too stupid except dropping the SR the first time I tried to put it on the center stand. Cost me a new brake lever and added some rash to the right muffler.

Speaking of stupid eBay sellers, last spring I bought a gas tank off eBay with cap and petcock on it. When it got here I pulled it out of the box and some of the styrofoam was melted to the tank (should have been my first clue). I left it set for a few minutes and then I realized I had a very rank smell wafting through the house. It was then I opened the cap and saw the stupid dink had shipped it via USPS with old GAS IN IT!!!

It had to have stunk up the delivery truck.

OK fine, I'm in! Couple years ago I needed to remove ignition advancer for some work. Not thinking at all I grabbed my 1/2" impact with a 17mm socket and proceded to "remove" advancer nut. After It sheared off the roll pin I suddenly realized about the "13mm" nut on the end! Felt like a complete nimrod for sure. Spent next two days drlling out hardened roll pin. :woohoo:

Roy I never mentioned it because I didn't set the front porch on fire. I think you are referring to the time I caught a puddle of gas on fire when that 650 SR backfired but that was on the front walk leading up to the house.:laugh: Good thing I had a hose handy.:blush:

Good thing we can all laugh about it now... Wasn't funny at the time for sure...

i was drinking and smoking pot...in my twenties ....and decided gasoline would be good for starting some stubborn BBQ briquets......so i went and got a Z-1R tank off a bike in the garrage and put it over the hibachi bbq and turned on the petcock.......not much gas in the tank so i had to swish it around.......

in my haste i forgot to turn off the petcock...not much gas so did not noticethat it was drip-drip-dripping as i was walking......walked about ten or twelve feet and set it down......walked back and struck a match........

wow......sure lights good on the fourth or fifth match....cept it started following the drips and ran across the yard and lit the petcock on the almost empty tank....like a bic lighter........scared the shit outta everyone there...people running ...chairs getting knocked over....my girl screaming........and no hose for a good run......no explosion.....just a lesson...
