Of course not, I understood you were only stating the caution needed, I was just trying not to hijack OMR's thread ;)

Don't sweat it guys for you're not hijacking, we're cool... B)

Yup, have spoken with Larry numerous times on what we're trying to accomplish regarding the tuning (steering) of the power band... Different concepts were discussed regarding air flow & obstructions where Larry replied that in a properly tuned engine/head this air flow at the exhaust ports is really strong so don't get to wound up about it...

What can I say, when the man speaks I listen... ;)

This pipe will be going on my stock KZ 1000 when finished... The head will be a Larry rebuild with mild P&P but stock cams for the initial install.

This bike will be used mostly for the wife's and I cruiser.. Plan is to steer the power band mid range ~ 4K-5K for cruise and passing umphka... I'll be sticking with stock sprocket gearing as well...

Obviously, WOT is not required in this KZ... Wife would get poopy-skivies...

Now that the KZ900 is 100% completed (oil cooler last thing to accomplish) other than normal maintenance...

I'm now ready to dive into the KZ1000....

Already started the pvc template bends so should have a mock PVC exhaust shortly.... I'll keep you posted with images as I go....

Most likely will start a new project posting on the exhaust build...

Oooooooh, I cam across a thread on sand bending exhaust tubing on this site www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=293162

One of the members tried some different dia/wall thickness tubes using sand and a torch. The Ti tubing turned out niiiiiiice

Just a little something to think about OMR while working on your prototype.....Unless you already read that sites thread. Then just regard this as a bump to find out what you've been up to :woohoo:

Thanks for the link.....

I'll be starting with mild steel first, cheaper on the "OH Shit" factoring.... Plus I have a tig rig w/regulator but not a 220Vac welder (reverse polaritiy) or Argon bottle...
MS and MIG welder will be just fine for now....

Stainless you have to be careful with in not using too much heat or you turn it into carbon steel.... If a magnet sticks to it, too bad you screwed up....

I would think TI follows the same rules as most alloys regarding heat but I truly haven't looked into TI to that extent due to costs.....

There's some cool sites out there on tube bending and exhaust tuning design applications.... The search is still on but I'm a ways until I reach hands on... Other things to do first...
