You still wont have much of a chance unless she spots you a couple of points. You are comparing a VW to a Porsche You can make a VW fast but it still will not beat a Porsche. Thats just in the engine. Now you would have to knock a hundred pounds from your bike and fifty from you. I know that Larry is good but I don't think that he can make a vintage 8 valve head breathe as well as the 16 valve head will on the ZX6. You can't even make the intakes large enough to fit a set of ZX6 carbs. plus she has about another 6000 RPM or more available to her.

good one old man!
i was also going to suggest always being on her right side at the light.

that way you can hit her kill switch before the light changes.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

OK, I think I've put too much faith in the vintage oil burner. I'm putting the head up for sale and saving up on an watercooled Kawi inline 4 motor.

Like I told you before, there is no reason not to mod these old bikes. They respond great to about anything you do! But keeping up with a modern bike, that just isn't gonna happen without radical stuff (BOOST) and even if you catch up in the power department she will smoke you in the twisties no way a pile of pipe on po-go sticks can out handle those sexxy aluminum chassis and 5 way adjustable USD forks.

However if you must sell the head shoot me a price!

bought it because I was told it would never run again...I like to prove people wrong.

I am yet another voice agreeing with what everyone said here. It is possible to beat her with your bike, but you will need to spend more on your engine than it would cost to buy an R1.

if you want to beat her i'll sell you my 750 turbo.

you know, none of us asked him how much experiance she has on a bike.
is she scared to lay into it in the twisties?
a lot of times it's the rider not the bike that makes the difference.
i ride with really big motor bikes. but a lot of them are set up for straight line performance. extended swingarms and struts.
sure they kick my ass off the light but i spank them on the curves.
your really screwed if she can ride.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

I have a 76 kz900 with a fresh 1200cc motor and ALL of the goodies u could want for a street bike.see my avitar.
i also have an 01 cbr600. they are a very close match for power in a straight line. the cbr will kill the kz in the turns.

Ah hell... Just carry a KZ fork with ya... At a stop light, bash her right hand in at the knuckles... this way she won't be able to grip the throttle...

You'll kick her ass easily! ;)

Now in all seriousness... Let her have some fun with it...
I know, I know but look at it this way. You have GF who's into riding that translates into you ridding and spending time in something you both like versus.... going to the mall and clothes shopping... :X

Otherwise, crack her in the left knee, she won't be able to shift out of first.... :woohoo:

I have an 80 kz1000 with a 1200 piston and some goodies too. I've been able to get the jump on a few newer 1000cc sportbikes (2nd gear roll ons). but I always manage to get walked down at higher speeds. :(
