That's a bit too visible. I'd mess with spark plug gapping. Or better yet pull one of the wires, bend/twist it violently to cause a break in the conducting material, confirm work with ohm meter, then re-install.

You can only be young once, but you can be immature forever!

in all seriousness, I would give APE a call and get

crank work
new rods +1mm on the small end
low comppression 810 kit
valve train bits
cylinder studs and nuts

then give these guys a call
www.mrturbo.com/turbo-sys/turbo_sys.html

I would personally use fuel injection to tie it together but many folks love carbs; really there is no right answer to that question.

You will need to get on Lorcan's webpage to get tuning info; but once you get that beast dialed in you will be able to keep up. If you cut down on the +100lbs your bike weighs over her's you may be able to beat her reliably that way.

you may want to brace the frame, undercut the trans, build the clutch, upgrade the suspension and brakes as well.... assuming you want actually control the beast you have just built.

I hope you have a good credit score, cause you will need it. And just remember; a factory zx14 is still gonna beat you up and take your lunch money!

::edit:: Please don't take the ribbing to seriously, there is no reason not to hot rod these old bikes; almost anything you do to a 30 year old machine will make a huge improvement. I myself have a healthy goal of a streetable, fun and easy to ride 100hp at the rear wheel. I fully expect to be looking into turbo kits before my build is done. Just don't expect to build a supersport killer easily or cheaply, such is life! ::/edit::

bought it because I was told it would never run again...I like to prove people wrong.

My GF bought an '01 ZX-6R about a month ago. What do I have to do to my KZ750 to beat her from a stoplight?

Step 1:
Get a couple o' wrenches and a BFH

Step 2:
remove 750 engine

Step 3:
Use the BFH on the frame until it'll hold a zx-14 power plant

Step 4:
Bolt it in

Should work right up until the point where it bends the frame in half :woohoo:

I put the turbo conversion on hold. LarryC is porting my head and it's matched to a pair of Megacycle cams. I still think it should be a good race.

No, I want an honest race. I might take the KZ to the dyno soon to make sure it's running correctly. When it's hot, it bogs off the line until about 3-4000 RPMs then it pulls to redline. The Cavanaugh Racing head and Megacycle cams will wake it up.
