Isn't this like one of those, "Does this dress make my ass look fat?" It's a no-win question with no right answer. Of course it looks like a cop bike with that fairing. Painting it any other color isn't going to erase its unique profile so if you truly want to lose the cop bike look, you'll have to remove the fairing, IMO. In the same way sweetie is going to have to diet as her ass looks fat regardless of the dress she's wearing.

So much for being blunt.

Now, do you like the look of the bike? Is it comfortable? Is she reliable and true to you? I say ride it like you stole it and enjoy the ride. :)

ok OK... it still looks like a cop bike. i'll have to paint it like you guys said. at least it's still a great bike with only 16,000 miles on it, and it's built like a tank... it will last forever. by the way it took a lot to modify it for the passenger seat.

Actually, you might want to post what mods you did to get a passenger seat to attach...several members have asked about just such a mod.

Kind of looks like someone who wants to be a cop with attitude. Personally I hate Cop Bikes. All they do is disrupt traffic and piss pople off. I really hate the wannabe cop bike when the driver has a cop helmet. Rip that chit off. You have ridden that bike and you know what other drivers do when they see it. Just like the tool that drives a Crown Victoria with a spot light on the mirror. Everytime I see one I say the same thing. What an A-Hole. I also think if you enjoy pissing people off with it you need your ass kicked. JMHO I just call it like I see it...Russ

All right then... I was being a little sarcastic when I asked the question... I sometimes forget how serious folks can get about these great old bikes... The mod to the seat required the fabrication of additional support struts to mimic the originals and the additional custom fabrication of at least a dozen other angles and clips to hold it all down. I used rubber stoppers for the shock bushings. It's not for bigginers but any decent do-it- your-self kind of a guy with a drill press band saw grinder and sander can pull it off. It helped that I have access to an aircraft factory. but you don't really need that, it just helps.

Jeez Russ, chill a little.
He wants to change the appearance of the bike. He doesn't want to look like a cop.

I'm thinking a darker color. Just about anything but white would do it.
Yellow? Red? How about that new copper color? Choices are endless.

I would suggest losing the "Police 1000" badges and get rid of the aweful fairing. The bags and seat are cool, if thats what your into. Black it out and repost the pics.

At the end of the day who gives a frig what other people think as long as you enjoy it.

Some folks take themselves and image way to serious and get cought up on trival matters that don't mean nothing. They cop additudes about a subject like this and start calling people ass h**les and saying they need their ass kicked. They're usually the ones that end up in jail, the hospital, or in the morgue... lighten up some of you guys have more testosterone than brains.
Here's another pic of the seat mod.

LMAO...Hey he asked. I dont even know the guy. But I bet he gets looks and the occasional finger when riding it. Would any of you ride next to it or want to share the lane? Tell us the response you get from other drivers when you ride? I am curious...Russ

Please read the quote. I said if the rider of such a bike enjoys pissing others off with it then they need there asses kicked. I did not imply that you were riding it to piss others off. Come on all if you ride that bike in the fast lane and pull up real close to another driver while wearing a look alike cop helmet. You have issues. I think Cop Bikes should be cop bikes and not be allowed in the hands of others. Its just my opinion. I think they are a disturbance on the road. And they definately impact the flow of traffic. Drivers see it and slam their breake on. Merge over without thinking or looking. And again if a rider of a Cop Bike or Car enjoys this reaction then something is wrong...Russ

I'll tell you what I wish all bikes got the respect that I get on the highway. People get the f*ck out of my way and I've never been given the finger by anyone. I still have dipsh*ts that change lanes on top of me cause they have their cell phones in their face but any one that sees me usually is more careful all of a sudden. Like I said I wish all bikers were treated that way. As far as you not wanting to ride with me that's youe bag dude I haven't come across ane stuck up riders like that yet. maybe you should seek counseling.

Yeah, I ride with him all the time. Cruises, poker runs etc.
Hasn't been a problem at all. As matter of fact, one group of HD riders thought it was pretty cool because it looked like we had a police escort.
