Very interesting - great looking Norton. How long ago did that happen? They just offically returned to production this year with a new commando, and it looks sweet IMO:

1989 john player norton rcw588

the one with the bent bottom cowling in the above norton pictures ,the first one,is an attempt to go raceing again, and was in local superbike events, with 2007 hardware and the proven wankel base engine designs....the man behind it is in charge of the norton racebikes from the 80-90's at a heritage museum for norton and knows them best...spondon...harris...few good folks were behind his efforts which fizzled out with the downturn....

It's the same thing with the V Rod in pro stock. Look at how much weight they have added to slow them down....Somehow it doesn't seem to work.

Last picture reminds me of a bike I seen years ago at an NHRA event. Guy had built a T/F bike and cut a 426 Hemi in half and was using 4 cylinders across frame. On nitro. Never seen it run but the damn thing was HUGE! Had a regular Top Fuel slick on back. Everything about this bike was huge.
1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110
