has anyone beat burt munro's land speed record? how hard would it be to beat this, or would it be considered a sin?

it would be tough to break that record to get a 500 cc flathead twin up to those kinds of power levels would be tough. and it might not make afew people happy but i'm sure old burt himself would say records are made to be broken so give it a shot and see if you have the stuff to do it.

every body has to have a dream i have been talking about going to bonnieville with a freind of mine for years and slowly but surely we both are building up enough stuff to do it properly so it look's like it could happen in a couple of years.

an indian scout put out about thirty four horse. a kawi ninja 250 puts out twenty four. but then comes the problem of what burt did to the indian to make competing with him difficult. im might let this one go, or at least use a ex500 in this dream simulation.

Last time I checked the record still stood. Burt's bike was a 600cc twin and I *believe* the class is less than 750cc streamliner. Wikipedia says the class is under 1000 cc but I don't think that is correct.

I really hate to open myself up to a beating here, but I think that if someone wanted to build streamliner bodywork for a 750 inline 4 and gear it up.......
Hey, I'll be there to give you a push start.

all youd have to do is build a frame and then make a body to go over it then, right?
