Hey everyone. I went to this auction this weekend back around home in Hamilton Il. The guy was a honda, susuki, ossa and ect dirt/dual pupose collector. He is getting a divorce, and selling it all. Most of it was honda stuff, and a good 80% of that was off road/dual purpose. But the shear size of it was amazing. My bro is a CB guy so tagged along.

www.sullivanauctioneers.com/01.17.09.Hawk/auction.html is the site with the online items listed, but let me tell you, that wasnt the half of it. Tons of 60-70's parts, books, literature.

Her are some pics of my loot, i was about the only Kaw guy there, this was about it for kaw sutff(non-literature stuff anyway).

I payed 1 buck each for all of them, spent more on lunch.

Can anyone id this old badge??? There was a red larg-ish dealer sign there with the Kaw Flag logo on it, but it went for almost 1k, i passes.

I found one of those side emblems a while ago. I don't know where, maybe a junk yard? Anyway, it's not in as good a shape as yours. I mounted it on one of my tool box drawers.

Kool finds. I've been looking for a kz900 model kit. I had one as a kid and did a crappy job on it. I'd like to try it again.

That badge, or at least that style of badge, was used on pretty much everything Kawasaki built before 1969 or so.
A buddy has an F2 (1967 single 175cc stroker street bike) with that badge on it and I just parted out a B8 (1966 single 125 stroker dual purpose) with the same badges on the tank.

KZ650C2 Stock/mint. Goes by "Ace".
H2A Built from a genuine basket case. Yes,it's a hot rod.
GT550A Stock/mint. Pleasant stroker.
2006 Bandit 1200S for easy LD rapid transit
Various H2 projects in the wings.

First time I've seen a badge like that, pretty cool. Anyone know the details of the flag, and what it represents?

That is an amazing collection. What kind of prices were the bikes bringing? More or less than the typical Ebay prices? You can bet that 90% of that stuff will be making it's way to Ebay in the next few weeks with stories like "Came from private collection of leading motorcycle expert" and "I bought out a dealer and this is what I have left" and the ever popular "Bought this for a project but never had the chance to use it". No one would tell the truth in their auction "Bought this cheap at a estate auction and hoping to make some money from it". I could get in trouble at a sale like that. I tend to buy stuff I don't need just because the price is good.

Everything there was going very high for a auction i thought. But that was due to the high amount of collectors present, many of the winning bidders where not resellers. I lost my notes with prices, i was hopping the link showed the finnal price. My brother and I where gonna take the heat from the wives and throw down on a 90% complete 63 superhawk cb77, but the opening bid was our high dollar and kept on going, ha. That silver cb450 went for almost 5K!!!! Also, all the bikes where soaked in oil preserves, one smudge with a fingure and the paint would make you druel, perfect. Almost all those bikes where 1-4k miles. THe rummor was he started his colection when the local dealers where going under back then, he went around buying up there sock at auctions.

We thought it would be kinda a secrete due to his location...haaaaa, yeah there was moto shop trailers from all over the country there, and soemthing like 3k online "registered"(ready to bid with proof of id and credit) from 11 countries!! lol The auctioniers did there part in advertisisng i guess.
