Hey caffcruiser, do the gpz tanks need any modifications to fit, or do they just drop in?

BTW, absolutely love your bike, awesome.

Needs modification, but it's a simple task if you have a welder.

I made some studs for the front of the tank so I could move it back a hair to clear the turning, and then did this:

It's just another KZ650 rear tank mount from a junk frame cut off and then welded on backwards. Fits perfectly.

My only complaint about the bike as above was that the tail and tank were lower in the middle. The front of the tail dropped down, and the rear of the tank did too... so I had to modify the HELL out of the frame to fix it...

As you can see there's LOTS of cutting, welding, fitting, etc. to get this the way I wanted it. Could have easily been solved early on though... just weld the rear mount up taller. ;)

Oh... and the bike is a KZ650B 1977. Here's a list of mods if anyone is interested in utilizing some of them... and feel free to ask questions about how I did anything. More than happy to help! :)

-Tomasselli three way adjustable clip ons
-GSXR hand controls/throttle
-Lamp brackets
-Euro Harley Davidson H4 headlamp
-GSXR750R stabilizer
-GPZ1100 fuel tank (Shaved)
-Added second caliper/rotor setup, but I'm putting something better on.
-Rejetted to 117.5 mains and 20 slows
-UNI pod filters
-new 530 chain conversion
-CBR rearsets
-Glass from the Past fiberglass "Slippery Sam" tail piece
-Custom wiring harness
-Dual LED tail lights with custom mount bracket
-ZRX1100 shocks
-Resprung front forks
-KZ750B single disc rear end conversion
-Custom rear plate bracket (adjuster mount)
-New spokes/nipples
-New brake pads all around

Here's some upcoming stuff:

-Frame/tank/tail repainted
-CBR929RR calipers/rotors
-Shave the rest of the frame
-Relocate electrical again

Thanks caffcruiser, that doesn't look too bad at all.

Noticed you rejetted. The jets are far bigger than my 110 and 17.5, how are they running?

Haven't run them yet, but got that jet recommendation from a friend in Saint Paul, MN who runs that size on his 650 that has 4-1 and stuff.... said it runs TITS. We'll see.
