It looks like a plie of bits at the moment, I decided to start from scratch...seriously, the frame is suspended from the kitchen ceiling by iron wire, just painted it with yacht paint, hard and corrosion resistant[dolphin grey], countless oem bits from everywhere[furthest was pilot jets from New Zealand!].
Those sprockets are from www.jtsprockets.com and are the standard sizes.
Standard chain nope, 530 , a trick I learnt here;)
This combo should give performance as indicated[111.8mph] and replaced identical ones so don't know about any difference.

crap, don't know how to do multiple piccys...

The original question was 'how many were made?'...my info says about 20,000 over a four year span (1979-1982)...they were exported to a number of European countries, southeast asian countries, South Africa and Australia...

Replaced shocks, new ones modelled on oem Z900 ones:)
Very pretty.
Piccys when this bloody camera joins the space age:silly:
Also replaced all fixings with A4 ss, dome nuts top and bottom on shocks, idea is [if we don't run out of oil first] to make her go another 25 years. Whether it's me sitting on it's another matter, these things were made to last. I remember in the 70's all the British bike nuts took the piss with "its made of crap materials".
:cheer:
How wrong they were.:side:

Here is my Z500 restoration completed, engine rebuild, new shells all round, new primary and cam chain, valve seals. Original parts were in good Nick but decided to replace whilst cases were split for repainting. I believe official figures were 16000 built.
