Motorcycle Alarm System...

I've asked before, but at that time I THOUGHT my "Chatterbox" system was repairable.
It stopped working, and upon inspection,I found that some of the internal parts had vibrated loose.
I fixed it(so I thought) but when I went to test it,it wouldn't set off.
I would get a "Chirp" when I activated it,via the remote, but no matter what I did to set it off, nothing would do it.
And yes,I adjusted the sensitivity.

SO...time to look into a different brand, because I'm NOT going to piss around with repairing this one, when it could happen again, when I least expect it,and when I really need it(out of town trip).

I'm snooping around on the bay right now,and found this one...
tinyurl.com/58726k

Who else has a "TWO-WAY" alarm system?
I wanna know if someone's pissing around with my bike, and get alerted if I'm in bed(in a hotel,or something)so it HAS to be TWO-WAY.

So ya...who else is using an alarm system on their inline 4 KZ?
I ask about the inline 4,because of the vibration issue.

Thanks guys!B)

I agree, that second one is sort of stupid. Why not just make the price 10 dollars more and just include the directions????

Good topic! The first one listed looks ok but it would be nice to read reviews on it and find out what other owners think of the system (shd maybe be Googled)... the price is pretty good though. The 2nd one well... the guys on glue if he thinks I'm gonna send him $10.00 for the instructions (LOL!). I think alarms combined with common sense are great tools to protect your ride.

I thought the time honored way to protect the bike at a motel was to take it in the room with a person.

uh yeah !!!!!!!!!!!! i normally bypass the clutch safety/lockout switch on handle bars and mount the wires to a toggle switch somewhere so you cant start it even with the keys if the switch is turned off.you can also arm/set off an alarm by mounting an old thermostat like you use in a house under seat so when the bike is stood up it moves the mercury in bulb and completes circuit setting off alarm;)
Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Ya but Nate...the last time we motelled it,there wasn't an elevator to bring the bike up with, lol.
Luckily we got a room on the ground floor.
AND...we had a stair-case DIRECTLY outside of our door, which worked perfectly to cover the bike.
That was in Spokane Washington, and I know that,"Donthekawguy" fella lives in that area,so I still slept with 3 eyes open.

You don't pull the bike into your room? When I pay $20 for a motel room, its always a double for both me and the bike!

$20 for a double??? My my my...they must grow them dollars bigger in TX too!
Up here in the Great White North the cost of a cheap room at a mom-and-pop hotel is at least double that...and I thought we were cheaper up here.
As far as an alarm for the bike. No friggin' way! There's nothing more annoying (to me) as someone's dumb ass alarm system going off, especially at a campground or other place of supposed quiet and solitude. (I know a campground owner who will tow any car within 5 minutes of it's alarm sounding. Bravo for him!)
Besides, no one up here would steal an old Kawi. Maybe a Harley but not an old Jap bike. If you're neighborhood is that bad, I suggest moving.
I have an old tech idea...howzabout a chain and lock?

Guess you didn't read my post eh...it's for when we're on the road.
My hood is fine...no thugs come around...they know better.
Plus,we have a great hood-watch here.

It's not the fact of what MAKE the bike is,rather than it's the vehicle that would have to get my ass home.
And I don't plan on packing a guard-dog(or a camel).
