The whole situation makes me pretty damn mad. All the facts aren't in yet, so we don't know if the biker initiated the aggression. Even if he did, he did not deserve to die for it. I've got a teenage daughter myself, so I understand the dad's protective instincts too. I'll be interested to know the real story. Hopefully someone on here in the Atlanta/Athens area can post a followup.

The daughters' story definitely sounds a little fishy. There were probably some witnesses at the Target parking lot. Hopefully they'll come forward.

Looks like a couple of punk little girls wanted to act like tough adults but then called daddy to bail them out of trouble. Your right though. Even if the biker was equally at fault he did not deserve this. Maybe deserevd a good ass wooping but sounds like the girls needed to be in line right behind him just for the "rude" gesture.

Something aint right, I kind of wonder if the girls almost hit him, or somrthing that caused him to follow them, but in either case, I dont see how a 40 cal in the back of a guy riding away on a bike is self defense

I'd hate to think that this Hoople has set the stage but he has. I'm trying to imagine how something like this could be avoided, I can only come up with the idiot should have not had a gun. The anti-gun folks will be all over this. I also can't get behind any measures to prevent him from exercising his second amendment rights. There's only one course left, charge him with second degree murder and let him pay the price.

shot in the back! Coward. A father deserves to be protective of his daughers, and he probably only heard their side of the story. Although this is NEVER a good reason to take one's life. If someone was following my daughters, an ass whoopin would be in order, but never death.

"Self Defense"? The guy was on a motorcycle riding past his house. I thought for it to be self defense, you have to be in danger from the assailant and you can't get away from it. If this guy felt threatened, he merely had to walk into the house and call the police.

Road Rage gone bad. I'm very much in favor of armed citizenship and not being a victim, but this guy obviously didn't take the responsibility of being an armed citizen seriously enough. I hope he goes to prison for it.

I hope the daughters are satisfied when their a-hole dad goes to prison.
