GPz750 cams on eBay

HELLO,,WELCOME TO MY AUCTION,,1985 KZ 750,,CAMS,,VANCE AND HINZES WITH TIMABLE CAM GEARS,

That's hilarious!!! Stock 83-85 GPz750 cams with stock gears!

I just happen to have a set of GPz750 cams sitting under my desk so I pulled them out to double check, no doubt at all, stock GPz750 cams.

I wonder if this was a deliberate fraud or the seller was just ignorant (lacking in knowledge)?

I suppose $80 for stock GPz750 cams is not too bad, if you "really" want them.

A bit more than they normally sell for though.

steell,
your cams under your desk are KZ or GPZ?

If they are gpz and your interested in selling them, I could sure use em.

Yes, the cams are 83-85 GPz750, and no I'm not selling this set. I screwed up and sold all four sets that I had, then had to spend time hunting down another set when I needed them :D

I believe Web Cams and/or MegaCycle will weld then regrind 750 cams for $320-$380 :woohoo:

they went for $56 so what is so funny about this auction?
i sold a set to a member here for $50 and that silly dude paid $100 for me to overnight ship them to canada.
( even though i stated value was $40, they got hung up in customs for a day )
i know for a fact he really loves them and they really woke his bike up.
if i seen this auction i would have won them.
( i still have a bare gpz 750 head if anyone is intrested )
i guess i'm just missing the joke here.

btw, i know it is against the rules here but if anyone is looking for gpz 750 parts, please pm me.

i have a ton , including swingarms and just one 810 kit left.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

The sellers spelling is pretty funny, i thought :). "VANCE AND HINZES" and i don't think "TIMABLE" is a word? Very high shipping cost, at least for my zip, a small package like that should not run 25 dollars. the ending price was not terrible, but i would prefer a whole parts bike when you are talking 50-75 dollars, not just a set of used cams.

You don't think selling GPz750 cams as "VANCE AND HINZES WITH TIMABLE CAM GEARS," is funny?

Hmm, maybe I just have an odd sense of humor

I'm with you, steell. That ad was obviously written up by someone who has very little knowledge of what they're selling....but knows that "Vance and Hinzes" stuff sells quickly on Ebay.
As well, anyone ignorant of mechanical stuff in general would assume that since the chainwheels are bolted onto the cams that they MUST be "timable".
I make it a standard practice NOT to deal with illiterate Ebay vendors whose first language is supposedly English. If a guy isn't familiar with spelling and grammar I sure don't want to take a chance on buying from him. Heck, who knows if he can even address a parcel correctly, never mind properly asess the quality/condition of the item he's selling ??!!?? And how can you communicate via email with someone who's only semi-literate ??
Elitist on my part ?? Maybe....
Do I pass up stuff that MIGHT be a bargain ??
Yes, from time to time, but.....
the literate people I HAVE bought stuff from have unfailingly supplied exactly what they listed.
It works for me....but to each his own.

KZ650C2 Stock/mint. Goes by "Ace".
H2A Built from a genuine basket case. Yes,it's a hot rod.

Various H2 projects in the wings.

Good point! But I have to say good luck to you on not working with "semi's". I don't even like my kids to read the newspaper. I'm afraid they will think journalists know spelling and grammar.

And she said "What did you say one, two, three for?" which is why you never end a sentence with a preposition.

I love it when people have no idea what they are selling. That is how I got this deal. Rebuilt, new stainless valves, ported and polished, new valve seals and even decked a bit. tinyurl.com/3clvt3 Got a set of smoothbores for $104 from the same seller.

Just wondering, as a diesel truck mechanic, would steell be considered semi-literate? :)
