The stand is a universal sport bike rear stand. I got mine on eBay for $25 because it was local and I picked it up. Take a look and you might find a deal. I would measure the width of you swingarm just to make sure that the stand will fit. It has two wheels. When the bike is on the lift you can roll it forwards and backwards easily. It only weighs about 5 lbs. Here is a video of one similar to mine tinyurl.com/ynmbh3

I have been thinking about the Harbor Frt bike lift, aI need to buy myself a good xmas gift, I am just not sur how it will last, most of the stuff from them dies within a year or two, so the debate is spend more money or not??

hmm

I bought the Harbor Freight lift just over a year ago and it is awesome. You can't beat it for the money. Then again, Kawtoy's looks great for about half the cost. Either way, a lift is really worth it when you have to work on your motorcycle.

I have a FZR box swingarm on the bike but I have used the swingarm stand with other KZ, GS and CB with no problems. With a round swingarm it is not as sturdy but still not going to fall off. The pads are adjustable for different width swingarms. Only thing it won't work with is shafties.

Quick question: what year FZR arm, and any problems? I have a couple and am getting ready to apply one to the Z1R. Thanks!
Oh, and cool bike lift!

I used a 94 FZR600. Very easy, just a bit of grinding. It is a monoshock swingarm so I had some shock mounts welded on. I had a custom rear sprocket made and installed a offset front sprocket. The chain will not clear the sprocket cover so I installed a clutch release kit from PMFR. I used stock KZ rear master cylinder and had to cut a slot into the swingarm for the master cylinder rod to pass thru. Here is the main reason I decided to build one instead of buy one. It has wheels mounted on the side and is light enough to lift onto it's side and roll around. That way it can be stored out of the way when not in use. Here is another pic from the auction

Hey KawToy,

Thanks for the link to that stand builder. He's basically used my idea but he made it be independent of the jack. I took an ATV lift and modified it to make the top and bottom members be eight feet long. The result is the same but he get's to use his jack elsewhere once he's lifted the bike.

I've linked these pics before, Sorry.

Your stand is definitely superior because it's much simpler to build.

Mine has 3/4in plywood base as well which may help tie everything together and make it stable. PLus when it is flipped on it's side the base helps to keep the whole thing from twisting. It is basically the same idea as yours, just some different materials and a little different engineering. If anyone wants the plans just let me know. They were $15 but I am not trying to make any money for them. Just a small donation to KZrider and I will send them to you.
