New tank with cap/emblems
07 Nov 2007 10:13
I bought this off ebay. Yes I payed quite a lot of money.
Has anyone ever seen a new tank that came complete with emblems and a gas cap. This is a first for me. Definately all new, never had gas in it and the cap and emblems and screws and all are new. I didn't know what to expect, but I'm really pumped. The tank was the only flaw in my 77. Now it will be darn near mint, and all i have to do is swap on the petcock and I'm good to go.

That is a lot of money, but if it makes you happy, that is all that matters.
It's still cheaper than a Kerker exhaust.

When you consider, cost of a pro prep and re-paint of your old tank, emblem and cap refurbishing, plus time and aggravation, I think you got a great deal!

If you consider that a new tank without all the trim from Kawasaki is about $800+/- that price is a steel. Good find, I wish I could find one for my 76 900 for that price.

my that is pretty, and i think the price was pretty good.
do you think maybe sometime back in the day a tech pulled the tank and put on the cap and emblems then stuck it back in the box unused?

I gotta say that's a whizzer of a deal, Ron. It's a beaut, for sure. As mentioned in the other posts, costs to paint YOUR tank to end up as nice as that one would probably be AT LEAST as much as you paid on Ebay....and you wouldn't have the nice cap or emblems....or genuine Big K paint at that price either.
