What are they going to do when these laws don’t solve all their perceived problems? A lot of accidents happen when an idiot buys a bike that’s too big for them. Are displacement restrictions next?

Displacement and power restrictions, of course, tiered licensing followed by outright bans on certain sizes/styles of bikes. Never mind that far more good for all concerned would be served by educating the rest of the driving public on the presence of motorcycles and the difficulty of seeing us. But, that wouldn't allow "them" to exercise power, now would it?

According an article I read in Superbike, In Europe, there’s an idiot who’s campaigning to have the top speed on all vehicles restricted, and for laws that forbid manufacturers from advertising performance characteristics of their products. I HOPE this is some sort of joke. I don’t want our lawmakers over here to get any bright ideas.

Don't worry, our nanny-state friends are watching Europe intently for new ideas all the time. With Hillary being the presumptive next president amongst that set, they are already moving toward setting "universal healthcare" into motion knowing the current administration will not stop them.

It's key to remember that most of those people are of the type that are most miserable when they know that someone out there is enjoying themselves.

Nates vintage bike axiom: Riding is the reward for time spent wrenching.
Murphys corollary: Wrenching is the result of time spent riding.

I always wear a helmet. In Missouri it is the law.Plus I wear a full face one...I like my face and would not want it scraped off on the asphalt. Even when I go over into Kansas, which is about 15 minutes from here and there is no helmet law I still wear it. I never did understand how they can make you wear a seat belt and give you a ticket if you don't and then NOT make you wear a helmet.

Here's my answer to the proposed Federal Helmet law:

This post represents my personal opinion as a member here at KZR and yes, the picture was taken in Oregon. Where we just love to love our rules!
