mannnnn this is sooo true, im a young college student and i just cant justify buying one of these new sportbikes unless you have the cash to buy the safety gear that should go hand in hand with motorcycling. i saw another fellow student on a new gsxr and he was wearing just jeans and a t shirt and a backwards cap. i may not have the latest flash bang cannon on two wheels but i do have a leather jacket and a decent helmet and gloves... wonder if i could get financing on the latest z1000, sorry but i like it...

Holeshot is the 1st one out of the gate, usually the 1st one into the 1st turn.

Well, I feel better (I think). Norfolk, VA is a Navy town, and squid is a slang term for sailors.
And here I was, all this time thinkin' y'all were hatin' on the swab jockeys. Thanks for the dictionary lesson.

Well, it is thought by some that the term squid indeed originated from sailors who then applied it to some young swab fresh on shore leave who gets a fast bike and wads it up. It was then picked up by the motorcycling community. Too many times the origin of a good adjective has been lost.
