I think these pipes look so cool, but i cant find a name on them anywere. The bike was my dad's origanally and he put these on in the late 70's. Over the years he's forgot what brand they were, all i know is they were bought at a kawi dealer in the late 70's and they were in the 300 to 400 dollar bracket. So if you know what brand they are tell me.

It is hard to tell from that side. Can you get a pic of the other side so we can see how it comes out from under the bike? It would also help if you can tell us how the pipe looks under the bike. Does it block the oil drain plug?

Replied by RetroRiceRocketRider on topic What kind of pipes are these???? It's driving me crazy
Is it the chrome pipes in the second pic that you posted that you're inquiring on?

If so, the header pipes look like the ones from a KZ650-D (SR) model and the mufflers look similar to the Jardine type that were OEM on the KZ900 LTD.
Tim's (ltdrider's) bike came stock with Jardine mufflers identical to those.

Maybe the Jardine exhaust systems they offered to the public were made with the cross-over headers like that back in the late '70's?

SO it looks like #1 and #4 go out one side while #2 and #3 go out the other side. Is that right? I don't know what they are but more details will help others make an educated guess.

i have a set of pipes very similar,RAN429 has a set on his 900kz also,on my 1+4 run to the left side 2+3 run to the right side mines/ran429's pipes make like a big X in front of the engine the only difference in mines and 429's is mine and with a very nice slash cut looks mean as hell is is sweet to with a different style end but nice,i just had mines jetthott coated very big mistake,im now going to have them rechromed,i think your pipes are old MAC pipes.

They look exactly like the stock pipes on my old 650SR. They were chrome 4-into-2 with a cross over as pictured. My vote is for stock KZ650 "D".
