Here's a 78 in silver out of the gallery. This is the C model with triple disc brakes and mag wheels. The B did not come in silver.

HI:
Thats my colour exactly.
I have a B2 with C colours. I would find it hard to figure that someone would replace tank, side covers and rear fender rather than just re-paint. Maybe the did something different with colours in Canada.
My problem now is to get the bike approved as a collector bike. In the province of British Columbia my KZ650 as a collector bike will cost $213 a year to insure through the govt. run insurance agency (ICBC).
I can cancel for the 3-4 months in winter that I will not likely ride.
I just need to get a seat.
thanks to everyone who helped on this post.

Thanks for the records, Ron, especially the ranges for the USA built models. If you would be so kind, if you have it, to supply the complete ranges for the C and D models, plus any more you have in this thread?
I can make a PDF of the all ranges for future reference.

Well I'm sure I'm not the only one in the world that would rather be shot than ride a repainted motorcycle, (or repainted anything for that matter). I rode my 1977 with the faded red factory paint for a few years, then swapped on the factory 1978 red (orange), then swapped on the 1978 blue. I'm one cover short of having enough to go with the 1978 silver C model paintwork. I think I'll just stay blue which is my favorite. Thank goodness for a gazillion gobs of crap at my fingertips. I can't be the only one? Well probably:laugh:
Unfortuately I only have the microfiche card on the B model, sorry.
