I need to see where about the lowers of the vetter fairing are in relation to the rest of the bike- for adjustment purposes?

Do you have the fairings already? I didn't think that there was a lot of adjustment to be had. If you have some and they don't fit, chances are they are not the right type for your bike.

For example, I have a type 5 fairing but I need type 53 lowers because I have a KZ 1000.

I think that the main fairing will fit most any bike (with the right mounting bracket), but lowers are more specific to the bike. The Vetter web site should be able to tell you what type you need.

;)

I have a fairing I will send you pics, but I don't have any lowers so I don't know how much it will help.

I am looking for lowers but type 53 are hard to come by.

My fairing is off an XS1100- how do I know which model is which?

I still would like to see how yours hooks up- I had to cut off the part of the bracket on bike that attaches to the frame- that is definately different than the KZ!

is it a vetter or the pacifico, sp , they had both on the xs1100.
the bracket is going to determine where everything lines up

There should be a label on the inside where the wiring harness plugs in. This should tell you what you have.

some of the older fairings might not have this. Try posting a pic. Someone might be able to id it.

I'll try posting some pictures of mine tonight, bracket and all.

Mario's picture is really good to see how the lowers cover the engine, but when you read the vetter web site it tells how they manufactured each set of lowers to fit different bikes.

To get the lowers to fit you need to match up with your bike and your fairing.;)

I can't say I truely remember right now, but I thought the lowers on my bike were Type 3. They are labeled inside for kz650, kz900, kz1000.
I'll have to look at them tonight.

Well, I just told the customer that the lowers I have won't fit and he doesn't need them anyway:laugh:

Here is a pic of them installed- I modded the brackets to fit.

that is the vetter version of the xs1100 faring, be careful with the headlight bucket and trim, you cant find the stuff anymore.
since it was made for the xs, I am not sure you are going to get a set of lowers to fit yor bike just right.
