1982 GPZ750R1 Project

11 Mar 2026 13:30
#922128
I acquired this project almost a year ago.
I started with a shell, boxes of parts and the motor out of the frame.
I did an inventory of the parts and the bike seemed to be 95% complete. I did some motor work last winter, carbs in the spring and finally in the fall of 2025 I got the bike running.

I now have the bike stripped down to one piece and ready to go for sandblasting.

Looks good.  FWIW, the pistons are numbered wrong, or are in the wrong holes.  Cylinders are numbered left to right, so #1 is the left-most cylinder when sitting on the bike.

Keep going and posting...I also have a KZ750R1 and eventually it'll look like yours as I slowly work on it.

Great project. My GPz750 project is languishing...
