Found another issue, is it me or does this frame look bent? Looks like the steering head is twisted counter clockwise by a few degrees

Not sure if it's the frame or the trees but something looks off - you could try laying a flat board against  the front of the trees, if the are off the board will rock "corner to corner"

Before you tighten the triple tree bolts clamp the front axle in place. It will help to hold the front end in alignment.

The rear sprocket carrier/Cush drive is wrong for the Z1 hub. From the picture it looks like it’s from a mag wheel. Your ‘77 if it’s a Kz1000 and OEM will not work either, that hub had disc not drum. Any thing for a H2750 to a 1977 kz900 will be correct. As for the front I see your Rh (left) as pictured upper stantion is higher in the steering stem head then the LH. As mentioned install the axle to help. Set the flange of the fork top bolt flush with the strewing stem head (upper tree). It would take a pretty good hit to twist the head tube. Also I see the steering stop pin looks straight. But as pictured it do warrant a deeper investigation.

The lower carrier/Cush drive is what you want, the upper is for a mag wheel.

Thank you for the pictures, that helps, you don't happen to have one for sale by chance?

The front forks in the picture are not the ones I'll be using, they're just some old ones that came with the big parts purchase earlier. I wanted to get the wheels on the frame before I put the engine in. The reason the right fork appears higher in the tree is the cap is halfway off. I haven't been able to break the left fork cap free yet. I really just want to use the internals. I'll be pulling the triple tree back apart this afternoon or tomorrow to see where I messed up.
