Here are some updates.Engine has been torn down, found to be in excellent shape, valves were lapped, seals changed, reassembled and polished.

The original paint was dull but in pretty good shape for a 41 year old bike. I removed the emblems. I touched up the paint chips. Then I took G3 cutting polish and polished all the original parts. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Luckily, the pin stripes were installed before the clear coat so I was able to polish right over top.

All chrome parts polished and waxed until I can find better ones. Gauges cleaned and painted. New grips installed.

The bike is now sitting in my basement rec-room. Mostly assembled. I am still waiting for a correct Tach to come in and a KAWASKI Fork cover emblem to come in. Once that is done, I will disassemble the bike and carry all the parts upstairs into my garage for final assembly.

Carrying the 130lbs engine will be the toughest part for this 59 year old to carry up a flight of stairs into the garage.

PO had done a complete brake job on the bike so all I had to do was clean and paint the master cylinder and the front caliper.
Wheels were cleaned and reapinted.

Looking really good, nice recovery with the paint (it's amazing what will come back if it's thick enough to stand the buffing

The new head gasket diameter looks like made for an big bore piston set other than the old gasket!
