Not a bad idea, but then I'd need to find some way to fix it to the engine. I think I'll just shift it to the back of the plexiglas next to the control box - almost directly under the seat bracket. I'll move the RFID antenna forward a bit. Should have plenty of room then.

Got back to the electrics today. Recovering from our favourite virus at the moment so just doing a bit at a time.
Put a couple of motogadget relays in and made a new bracket for the relay wich will be mounted somewhere... still not sure where. The easiest option is shown in the picture below, but I'm not sure about electrical interference with the main unit. Looked at mounting the relay down by the starter as suggested by Jim, plenty of room but I'm not sure about the heat. Also thought of putting it behind the battery, means longer wires but may be OK.

A thin rubber or foam layer would protect the battery case cracked by the screw heads.

There's a layer of rubber around the battery. Just can't glue it in until everything has been painted/powder coated. I'll also be sinking the heads of the screws until they're flush - that's tomorrows job

Interested to see what you think of the ultrabatt battery, I'm considering using one on my bike, due to the light weight and freeing up space under the seat...

I'm hoping it works out OK - not much room for anything else!

Re: 1977 KZ1000 Restomod
03 Mar 2022 22:35I'm in the same boat, if I want to use everything I have so far, i really need a smaller , lighter battery... They are supposed to be good, I've spoken to the Aussie distributor about them, he's a friend of a friend...I'm hoping it works out OK - not much room for anything else!

I just picked up this Antigravity AG-801 battery. About the size of a carburetor and only weighs 1.5 lbs. The lithium ion batteries require a special charger and cannot be jumped using a conventional lead acid battery, though. The charger was around $35, so no big deal.

Looks like a nice product but they aren't doing a great job of selling it on their site. Not a lot of details, no manual or detailed specs, and the support page says:
