Thanks for the heads up, I did notice that issue, but fortunately I haven't run into any problems getting the bolts out yet. I'll probably get some spring washers like that to finish off the mount.

In other news, I did take the bike on a test spin, and made it a block and a half from the house. It looks like a spacer on the rear axle broke, but suffice to say the entire rear end is locked up and will not spin. I suspect I'll be replacing the axle and axle adjusters, and I'm hoping that there isn't any bearing damage, but I won't know until I get it apart. And that may be awhile, because any amount of effort I put into trying to unbolt the axle isn't working. :(

Oh bummer! So what exactly failed? Did you swap the bearings out to fit in 20mm ID bearings to fit the ZRX rear axle.

Hey Johnno! Following your build closely and loving it all. I'm new to the kz1000 world so please forgive any questions of the stupid nature. First, could you run dual disk up front with your current set up? Second, it's there a way to run mids instead of rearsets with the zrx swingarm?

Thanks,

Bike is coming together great, I for one dig the patina of the tank and hope you have plans to NOT paint it.

Its a shame we didn't see the end of this build... Its the only one I have seen using modern suspension and spoked wheels... The fat rubber on spoke wheels to me is an awesome look...I have always wanted to do a build like this...

My ears must have been burning....... Responded to your PMs.

My bike is still in progress and hope to have it done this summer.

I’ll try to answer what I can, but I wrote a pretty detailed thread...... I have kept all of my pictures and detailed drawings of what I have machined, etc.... so I will help in any way I can.

I had to just figure it out, no blueprints in custom bike building......
