Over the weekend I de-tabbed the frame and lopped off the tail. My son's going to fab up the tail hoop in his shop class tomorrow! Free is good

After two days in the de-rusting, I am still seeing way too much rust in the tank. I may have to get a new one...

Did some work on the frame. Hit it with the wire brush on the grinder and then took the rest of the paint off with aircraft stripper. After a wash down with phosphoric acid she was ready for some self etching primer to stop surface rust. As I am not power coating, I will be using a tiny bit of bondo to smooth out an gouges in the frame from the de-tabbing...

Hoop time... Filled a steel tube with sand and wrapped it around a dolly wheel to get the shape. Thanks to my Har80* Fr8 welder, this was pretty straight forward. My first attempt at welding and I had a blast!

Wow, it looks like your doing a nice job.
What kind of primer and paint did you use on the engine?
Also what kind of paint are you going to use on the frame?
What brand? Is it rattle can ?
I will be watching this build it is similar to mine.
