25 Sep 2014 13:20No. Those are the airbox measurements. The ducts take up the space between the carbs & airbox.TheeGreenRanger wrote: So from the carbs til it hooks to the battery holder case is 6.5inches
The airbox is installed from the carb side of the frame.

Yes, the carbs need to come off in order to squeeze the airbox into the frame. Ed

Should also be possible to use earlier 650 slide carbs and pods to run the bike.
Would just have to rejet and tune accordingly. Slide carbs respond a lot better to not having an airbox than CV carbs

Re: 650 bobber
25 Sep 2014 19:55 - 25 Sep 2014 20:04The mid-frame down tubes are probably close to the stock configuration. I would focus more on the area rearward of there & in front of the battery. Use the diagrams at Kawasaki.com or Partzilla & eebbaayy photos to see how much the frame has been modified. At this point you'll have to figure out whether or not the airbox will go in. :ohmy:TheeGreenRanger wrote: sorry thats what i meant. though i was thinking that i maybe had to make shorter ducts because of the way the frame sits.. ill measure it out.. do you have to remove the carbs to put in the airbox?

If youre going with pods, I'd be more inclined to track down a set of slide carbs for the 650 and go that route, they respond a bit better to not running the airbox.

Z1Enterprises.com lists the 52mm filters for the 82 650, but I would verify the size.
I believe the individual filters are sized according to their ID, so measure the OD of your carbs before ordering.
Z1Enterprises.com may have the jets.
I checked the 82 650-H2 carb section but didn't see any listed, so you probably ought to contact them to see what they can do for you.
Pod filter extenders. I'm assuming this is a suitable solution for improving the performance of individual filters --- someone here on KZR floated the idea. I don't know if there will be fitment issues or what (???).
