Just took mine off again today. I work the plate off first and then lightly pry up on the back of the sprocket while turning it to apply even pressure.

Granted I could be doing in wrong

You just have to wiggle that little sheet metal plate off of the shaft. It has to be at the correct rotation so the teeth line up with the grooves on the shaft, to come off.

Then the sprocket just comes straight off.

Thanks for the advice I got the front sprocket right off B) . I started to spray paint the side covers and kawasaki logo and put the the chain on just to see how it looks and I think it looks really good. Will post pictures.

Ok I have another question is the bike have a self oiler on it because the front sprocket is full of grease and dirt.

No self oiler, but luckily, someone was oiling the chain. That puts less stress on the trans and motor if the chain is working correctly.

Modern, o-ring chains don't really need oiling. But they should occasionally get some o-ring specific chain spray on them to keep them from rusting. That will reduce sprocket wear as well.

If that's an o-ring chain you have, definitely don't use wd-40 on it. Get o-ring specific chain lube.

Alright guys sorry I haven't been on for awhile but no really new news besides that I found that the outside carb drain tube was broken. Do you know anywhere I could get a new one?

Do you mean the overflow tube? Post a picture to get some feedback. If cracked it can be soldered. If broken off you can replace it. I seem to remember Patton mentioning something about a replacement tube that can fit.
