Hey thanks again guys.

Yup should be at Paris Rally this year, it'll be back of the pack with the other diesels for the 2 stroke oil spray with the KTC boys!

I really need some heat in the garage so I can finish up the Zed. It's bloody cold out there now!

Just a little update on the Zee or Zed 1 depending on your location.

The gauges are now complete. I peeled them apart cleaned up all the grunge on the inside and got them to zero again. They kept hanging up on all the small pieces of metal and dead bugs and such. Bought new faces, tried the decals but messed that up. A few bubbles under the decals that I couldn't get rid of so I bit the bullet and bought the painted faces that are on eBay from time to time. I had to strip and repaint the bezels. Not bad for my first attempt at rebuilding gauges.

Here's a little trick, I bought a ABS plumbing 3" to 4" adapter to hold the gauge while slowly opening up the stainless ring with a small screwdriver, it worked great!

Here's a shot just to see how well it fit.

Also finally got the gas cap on. It was a little scary tapping in the pin with the hammer so close to the tank!

Now I'm just waiting on a few more parts, cables, rear brake lever acorn nut and washer, etc.
The one thing I can't wait for is spring! Only six more weeks according to the rodents!!

Not sure where your from but in Ontario you have to buy a "Used Vehicle Information Kit" for $20 when transferring and ownership (title). Typical Canadian government cash grab but this has the vehicle ownership history. That gave me the name of the last registered owner. Then I checked on Canada411 (phone info) and called the guy and offered him some cash then drove the four hours to Ottawa and picked up a bill of sale. Then went to the town clerk and paid $25 for an affidavit then off to the Ministry of Transport with said paperwork, pay my taxes and presto changeo I have an ownership in my name. It's still listed as un-plated so I'll have to go to a mechanic and get it safety certified, pay more money for insurance then pay another $20 for the plate and $42 for the yearly sticker.

This is Canada, it's all about the government $$$ but I'll be riding a Z1 this summer! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
