Here's a couple pics of my shaftie project. I just got the paint back from my buddy this week. I started it up for the first time in 8 monthes today. The good news is that everything electrical works as it should and the engine starts up and will accept throttle without stalling anymore. I bought the bike last spring and it would start and run but would not take any throttle at all without stalling. The bad news is, its not running on #1 and it blew a cam plug out on the left side. I suspect the Dyna coil is shorting out on the fuel tank. I really didn't do much checking as I ran out of time for today.
The bike has a fresh Wiseco 1045 top end- I'm waiting for the Kenny Harmon D cams I just bought to show up as well as the rear footpegs and a new seat cover, all the rest is pretty much done.
This was a frame off project and almost everything on the bike has been bead blasted, painted, polished or powder coated.

Thanks for the compliments Guy's. The paint is called metalic Marooned Red and I had Gold pearle added to the clear. I expect it will look pretty wicked in direct sunlight, too bad we don't get much sun in the winter-lots of low cloud held in the valley from evaporation off the lake, it might be spring before I can see what it really will look like.

Your bike looks fantastic! Can I ask what type of rear shocks you are using? Stock length or longer?

Those are stock length Mulhollands that I refurbished. I had to resize the lower bushing, I guess the shafties have a larger lower mounting stud than the other KZ's

Oh yeah, me likes very much. The wheels are super clean and shiny. Did you sand off the machine marks on the spokes and polish? GREAT JOB!

The rims paint was also powdercoated? Looking better each detail that I see. Really giving me renewed inspiration to finish mine as quick as possible.

Bike looks awesome, nice job. Check the wire connecting screws to the coils to make sure they are not shorting out on the mounting studs.I mounted some small cupboard door bumpers on mine to insulate from it.

I painted the wheels with satin black acrylic, then my Buddy (who refinishes wheels for a living) machined them on his CNC wheel machine, a coating called Sharkhyde was wiped on the exposed aluminium to protect it.
