I took some coarse stainless steel wool and bundled it into the baffle with wire. That brought the sound level down so I'm not getting nasty looks from people.

Today I put the 26's on and it idles better. The idle is still a little rough, maybe because of the cams. The previous owner said the cam cover had to be ground for lobe clearance = lumpy cam. I haven't opened up the motor yet so I'm just going by what he said.

The shifting is so nice - anyone wondering about getting your trans undercut, I would say do it if you can afford it.

Interesting story... I just purchased an engine built by Kerry Andrews for Eddie Lawson. I was talking to the seller and he knows these MotoGO Werks guys well. Apparently, Yoshimura Japan (as opposed to Yoshimura R&D here in the states) is working with them to recreate one of their old Suzuki superbikes.

I've been meaning to stop by to talk to them about a custom exhaust. I'm wondering if they could recreate the 4-4 exhaust that the Yosh bikes used in the series. It was most likely a completely new hand-bent system (vs a tuned stock version).

Something like this!!!

Chris at Motogpwerks is a known good guy. He has been whipping up stainless Yoshi replica exhausts for the cb750 guys for quite some time. I know, at least with the cb750's, that you can call him and if he doesn't have one done, it won't be long before he makes more, and his prices are great. Cool to see he is making these for Kawi's. Apparently, he used to work for Yoshimura, and Motogpwerks currently does work for some Motogp teams, so he certainly knows what he is doing. Kapahulu, how did your pipe fit? Some of the cb750 guys had slight fitment issues with their pipes, where either Chris fixed it for them, or it was minor enough that they tweaked it on there and lived with it.
