Her's my 1981 z200 cafe project, bought the bike for £255 here in blighty which I though was'nt to bad.
So far I've fitted a cb750 cafe racer seat, Upgraded front brake caliper from cable to hydraulic and a few other mods.

You're really serious about this bike! I would have to be exceptionally fond of a bike to powder coat a frame - I usually brush paint them and it works more than good enough for me. Maybe if I planned to keep the bike for a decade or more, I'd consider powder cornering. But that's highly unlikely :P

Your frame came out very nice, though B)

Came from a motocross background where powdercoat is the norm and it's just easier to lets someone else sort all the rust out and paint it.
When you work out how many hours it would have taken me to prep and paint it myself it was cheaper....lol

Very Nice. You don't see a lot of the 200s in the States.
I was thinking about one to round out my Kawi collection. I've already got a four, a three and a twin. Now I just need a KZ1300 and a KZ200.
Good luck and keep the pics coming

Thanks Jim
Thought i'd start off with a little 200 first and then progess onto a bigger bike for my next project.
200's are a bit scarce in the Uk also. It was either a z200 or cb200 and the z'd came along 1st

I like where you are going with it.

Who cares if it not the fastest, as long as the wind hits your face and you have fun with it.

Wemoto do some spares, but nothing other than general servicing parts.
I know I'm going to make do and mend on a few parts but I'm making a cafe race so it doe'snt hurt if its not concours condition and looks like its 35 years old.
