i figured there would be a few people like the color ( RAMTOUGH IS A GREEN GUY AND THANKS FOR THE INPUT ) RACER 54 i plan on some darker graphics that will make the green pop as if it doest already and i think like you, once i get the wheel painted it will all blend in alittle better. my son and bother in law have green bikes so i had to be careful picking the color that i did not close to theres.i need to get some monster energe get this stuff done so i can get on the motor have all the parts to do it larry c said the head will be done soon ,(cant wait to see that) right now iam having a hard time cleaning the block it is a z1r block and some one painted over it and about half ass sanded it so i have a mess with it what ever kaw puts on them for paint i figure it is powder coat is some tough stuff

went to the races this weekend got the first smell of rubber boy what a motivator that was. got the frt. wheel painted and put some wheel stripes on i got the ones that have (kawasaki racing)on them those alone changed the look of the bike big time. put the wheelie bars on they looked like they belonged to a funnybike so i cut about a foot off them have to welled gusetts redo the side panels and repaint.

(zedone) thanks for your input its really starting to come along.i will have to say today was a good day i have been having a hard time cleaning the motor whoever did the motor before me must have put about 4 coats of powdercoat on it then they painted it somtime after that, iam talking thick shit. i tryed about eveything other than sand blast which i thought about but didnt really want to so i google it and most people said aircraft stripper.i remembered that there was some in the cabinet at work got it today, wow that shit works.spread it on with a paint brush wait about 5 min. and sprayed it off with a hose could not delieve it. the bottom came off real easy still need to hit it 1 more time it should be done, now the top thats a diff. story it is going to need 2 or 3 more times iam going to do it at work we have a pressure washer alot more power

Them cases look to be bored for a 1260 kit. You will be in love with the grunt those things have.
I'm going to have to try the aircraft stripper, I've got some stubborn paint to remove off a set of cases as well. You look to be coming along pretty good. ;)

Hard to say but I'm guessing you'll have at least some tuning to do, they were on a bike I bought that was a drag bike only, 1075 big compression with 110 webs.

I know your going dragbike and I seen the breather in the starter hole but I'd really suggest going button start. It can be done even with a big compression motor. Having to have a starter cart every time is a pain. Plus it's cool to lay down a bad fast pass on a button start motor. B)

It should, I know some guys go to the honda starters and there is a guy that rebuilds them to do it. I'm sure you've been to dragbike.com, look around and you'll find it.

Your bike is looking great. B)
i use a Honda starter for my kz1200 but it is only 10.5:1.
the H starters turn over faster than the kz's.

i forgot to check back on your post, u asked about the basket springs.
they are there to take the shock out when u launch. without them the crank and trany would be connected solid, so they compress to lessen any damage to the power train. it is common for them to get week, and brake. i found a broken 1 in my pan. APE has a replacement CLUTCH HUB REBUILD KIT, (spring package) $95.
kzzone.com/clutches.html
I changed mine out . its not dif but u may need a press. u drill out the old rivets , take it apart, and then smooth the inner spring pockets with a dremel. the springs can chew the mating plate surface up. then u press the new rivets in and weld them.

i did some checkin on the starter thing then i checked on the budget thing its not there so that isnt happening this year.stopped up to a buddy of mine and he brought out a extended kiker shaft that sticks out far enough that when you kick it you dont hit the pipe so am going that route.i will still use the outboard starter to. i have been doing some research on the 2 tracks that i will be running at and they dont have a box class unless your in a pro class (iam not) so my question is how do people bypass the box.they unplug them and take them off.now i dont know shit from cupcakes when it comes to this but there is alot of wireing on this thing has anyone ever done this i know this is a shot in the dark but i figure most of them are wired about the same i still want everthing to work. any help would be great if not well iam not sure what to do. i dont know anyone around me that has this stuff.
