camaroguy, Im not completely happy with the sets at this point. The pedal definitely needs to go down some. I will probably bend it down a bit, or I may make some plates that allow me to set it back and turn it down some. We shall see...

The roller looks good!

Let me offer you some advice on the rear sets. Looks like you have the same ones that I'm using. First off, don't decide on final position before you get the motor back in the frame and can figure out your shift linkage. It's gonna be tight between the shifter and the kickstand. Make sure to check it with the kickstand up and down. Also, the brake side may or may not have interference with the exhaust. Finally, you can adjust the brake pedal height a certain amount by moving that yoke on the master cylinder. It should be able to screw in or out a little and then you tighten that nut down on top of the yoke to lock it in place. I had to make up some adapter plates to position my rearsets where I needed them to be.

Thanks Test, that's kinda what I was thinking. It will be one of the last things I do to get the right fitment. I appreciate the advice!

Im working on some custom risers this week that you guys will like. Should be nice and adjustable if things work out like they should.. lol

I hope to have the frame fabrication all done within the next week or two, so that I can get it blasted and start putting it back together. Motor will be done fairly soon, so I need to get ready!

Did you do any type of V-shape to the joints before welding them togehter? I would have done that, so I could have grinded the weld down completly, to reduce risk of corrosion and such. I'm not criticizing, I'm just damaged after the IW-welding course I just completed :p

But except that the project is looking good! :D

Man, where were you a week ago! Wish I would of thought of that. I did undercut the inside of the side supports where they connect to the frame. I am not a pro welder for sure, but I do try to make sure the weld is solid. They don't always look the best, so that could of helped them look a little better. Will have to remember that for next time for sure...

Those thick sheet metal bits are a bit trickier to weld togehter then the thiner ones, but I would guess that a 4-5 mm thick one, bent at 90 degrees and the having the "sides" welded onto that and then to the frame would have been the best. The tubing in the frame can't be thicker then 2.4-3.2mm so there would have to be more "heat" on the shock bracket.

So your mount is a bit "over engineered", but rather that then the opposite of course! :D

I've just started, this week, a milling/lathe/CNC course that'll run for about 20 weeks, hoping to be able to make everything from simple spacers to tripple trees after that :p

Yea it is a bit over engineered, but like you said.. would rather be safe then sorry.

Where are you taking classes at? I wouldn't mind taking something like that.

Finished up the top mount.. She should be good to go now. Added a couple of top supports to help distribute the load.

You guys will appreciate this. Had to trim the original lock post off the KZ stem to allow to new trips to turn stop to stop. Well after I did that I needed to come up with some sort of stop to keep the forks off the tank. Well, the end I cut off the original lock seemed like a good fit, so I cleaned it up and reused it. Worked like a champ!

Mounted up and ready to go... Also removed the original front stop.

Now I can do the body work on the tank!

looks great jack.

going back through your post i was reminded to recommend a 80 grit flapper wheel to replace the grinding wheel on your 4 inch grinder .

they are real nice for this kinda thing and leave a much nicer finish than a grinding wheel.

Thanks guys really appreciate it! I wrestled with doing the frame in silver or the typical black as I really like the black frame, but decided to roll the dice and do something different and happy I did.

The primary color of the bike is the same silver with some other accents.. Ram, I may need to pick your brain on some transitions if I have trouble. :)

The wheels will be black with polished lip, and I have not decided on the color of the swing arm yet (black or silver). The engine will be mostly black, so we will see how it all flows..

Thanks again....
