Leon,

I think you have some sort of magnetic polarity for Z1R's. They just seem to find you out of nowhere.

What's your plans for this one.

doug,
the attraction does seem kinda wierd, but i have never been one to look a gift horse in the mouth  .

the plan is to do what it takes to make it safe and reliable,in other words as little as possible to make a rider out of it.

i don't have much cash and i have already begun the rebuild on the capt.belk bike.so this one will be done with nearly no budget :woohoo: .not sure how well thats going to work out  .

i figure as long as i keep getting something done on it and keep moving forward however slowly i will get there.

it is using a horseshoe stake for handlebars,it is missing all the z1r unobtanium from the front end and brake system.the perches and levers are gone, the front brake m/c and res. are missing as well as the front calipers.the dash and guages are gone, both fairing brackets are broken and some of the left one is missing in action.the right handlebar switch has been bastardized with some other switch mounted in the housing.it has a badly repaired fairing and cracked shield.

my buddy that i got it from said this is the wheelieingest bike i ever rode.
i said most z1r's don't like to wheelie much.he goes i know, but this one does.
then he goes the only bad part is landing them it would smash the header closed everytime.
after looking under it at the header,i believe that he was telling the truth.both of the tubes on the bottom are mashed over halfway closed :pinch: .
i think the mono shock must help it transfer the weight better so it can wheelie easier  .

it has a kztooae- serial number engine.so it has the wrong engine :pinch: .he said the last time he rode it (04/05)that he thought he was having engine or electrical probelms.after looking at the wiring and battery box,my money is going on electrical problems.i haven't checked the compression yet but it seems to have enough it should run.i will actually check it with a guage before i try to make it run tho.
it always kills me when people go 'oh it has good compression,it would blow my thumb off" :woohoo: .most folks can't hold 80 pounds of compression with there thumb, and engines don't run very good at all below a hundred pounds comp.

Just did some quick research and it appears the arm is from a '84-86 ZX900A. It's the only one I could find that had "overlapping" on the sides like the one you showed.
