Looking good there!

www.fastfromthepast.com sells Tarozzi Rearsets, footpegs (both universal and direct mount, folding and fixed), and clip-ons. Might be something to look into.

I am working on using a universal set, and have them bolted to the upper hole in your picture.

I am ordering the shift and brake linkage parts this week.

mjg15: you said: Any good rear shocks will make a huge difference over the stock ones.
----does this count putting late 90's 500 vulcan shocks on a 550, or just aftermarket ones? Because thats my plan.

Bike looks sharp! Heck, doesn't even look that bad stock. I have a 550 LTD and love it. I also trimmed ALOT of weight off my ride...like 70 lbs. But, that was all located in my gut region. Interested to see how much snappier it feels now. haha.

Andy,
I guess that I meant aftermarket shocks, Even the 550 Zephyr shocks, which look great and are adjustable, really don't have much damping control. The Vulcan shocks may well be better than the stock KZ shocks, and you may get a worthwhile improvement, but I'd stop short of recommending them for aggressive, sporting use. Those Vulcan shocks are probably shorter I guessing.

After discussing peg locations above, I became curious about the difference in peg locations between the standard model KZ and the GPz.

The GPz pegs are 2 1/2" inches farther to the rear, and 3/4" higher than the KZ pegs:

mike,
thats why I got them, to lower the bike a little. Was hoping that since the Vulcan shocks are 13 yrs newer that they might work better... if not, oh well, out $30.

I'm sure that they've got to be $30 better than the old pair for sure!
