hey did anyone see rossi's good bye letter to his M1 yamaha...wrote it like a love letter...
Trossa...your write ups and documentation are killer and very cool for folks without your skills at diving into the unknown...pics and a tricks to unspringing a mono would be great...my zx550 may need a spring change at some future date....

Tri, I almost forgot about that little GPZ 550 that you have. I guess that you could say you have double mono.

KZ1000 frame in the white:
Mother nature sort of lit a fire under my ass today. The humidity is actually relatively low for Houston right now, but it doesn't take long for that bare steel to flash rust after you clean the old paint off. Especially when I used the aircraft stripper. Once I rinsed the chemical off the frame it rusted by the time I got home from Lowe's which is 1/2 mi from my house. So I had to do something to protect the frame from rust.....
KZ1000 frame in black:

Josh, looking at your garage you must have a very understanding wife.luckily I have one too.frame is looking good.now comes all the clean work, assembling it. wont be long now.
No kidding, but by the same token, I am a very understanding husband, and I did get her the Miata she has been wanting. I'm also hoping to get her interested in riding with me once the bike is done. I forget what my garage looks like b/c I have been working in it like that for while now. I have promised to clean up so that we can get at least one car in there once this project is done.

I take for granted I live in a relatively dry and mild climate nearly year round, and most people have to contend with humidity and the problems it creates. What did you spay the frame with this time? Was it the epoxy primer, or something immediately available just to get it covered? Otherwise, it's looking good Josh!
That's black epoxy primer. I'm sure that I'll see some thin areas when I get it flipped. It was hard to paint inside the frame without banging the cup against everything. I have a couple of areas that I want to put some filler, so I'll just sand that area off and I'll shoot another coat once that's all done. It's very tempting to just use it as is, but I'm waiting on shock parts, so I have time. I probably need to spend a little time cleaning before I go into full body shop mode.
