I dont think i could go very long without a fix from Ebay. I just love to keep the emotions on a roller coaster.
1 day i'm high from a newly won part, next i'm pissed because some jerk ripped me off.
I got burned on a set of crash rails for my CBR recently. Feel good about the new sliders i just won.
As long as i keep on a high note, I'm fine. it just gets expensive , compensating for losses with wins.

As for the cub scouts, my son loves it, and it's good for him so we stay. The dads are all good people, just not my style. All of them are 15 to 20 yrs my seinor and just a little too "shallow rich guy" for my taste. One of them has a feigned interest in my motorcycle, but its really just small talk to him. He asks about my old car every time I see him. The conversation is always the same. Mr. S "So I hear you have a old car." Me " Yeah, its a '67 Mustang." Mr. S "Cool, what body style?" Me "Hardtop." Mr. S "Yeah, but what body style? Is it 2 door or 4?" Me "They only came in three styles, hardtop, fastback, or convertable. Its a 2 door, Mustangs never had 4." At this point I usually go check on the kids, since he won't, and he's the den leader. He would just think that they (the motorcycle and car) are too much work. He doesn't get that I enjoy the work.
BTW Mr S happily allows me to be his son's father for the weekend since his boy is a little challenging. They adopted the kid from a Russian orphanage, and he is believed to be the child of a drug addict. He is hugely ADHD, got held back in Kindergarten, and is still a thumbsucker at the age of 8. Can you see why I was a little off on Friday? I won't even tell you what the kid did at the last campout. If it weren't for his mother (the adoptive one) he would receive zero supervision. Sad, really, so I help where I can. Out of nine families in our den, we were the only ones smart/stupid enough to bring our bikes. So I spent all of the free time being the carnie who runs the ferris wheel. I had to marshall who got to ride the bike all of the time. Good fun.

The Riviera Maya is short distance for me too...... 40 miles to LAX!
I'm not sure an equidistant meeting place is the best idea, it would most likely put us in the middle of nowhere Nebraska or the Dakota's. We'd need to pick someplace fun, or at the very least fun to ride. Most of us don't even have ridable Kzs yet, so its a plan for the future.
And Mark, why do you get burned so often in auctions? I've been burned a couple of times, but not on the scale that you have! Damn buddy......

Enough screwing around. Back to work now. I got my box of goodies from Z1E today. YEEHAW!!! Now that I have my Dyna 2000, I can work on fabrication of all of the electrical component mounts now. Here's a pic to give you an idea of scale on the Dyna box.
BTW I ordered the KZ1000 replica emblems for the sidecovers from Z1E. I must say that these are worth every penny. Very heavy metal construction that is actually better than the factory emblems. I'm not sure how I wound up with LTD sidecovers, but my bike was a Frankenstein.
Actually the sidecovers appear to be one size fits all. While they have the correct holes for the LTD emblems. They also have the locations for the KZ1000 emblems.
This picture is the back side of the sidecover.
Now a question for the Dyna 2000 owners out there. Are the four Phillips head screws on the back removable for mounting purposes?

The Dyna 2000 box is smaller than I would have though. I don't remember if you had plans to modernize any of the electrical to shrink/package it into a smaller form factor. Are you leaning toward putting it under the seat, or under the tank?

Under the seat. I'm thinking that I may need the rest of the area under the tank for HID Ballast eventually.

Another question. Those who are running pod filters. Have you built a support structure for the carburetors in lieu of the factory airbox?
No. I do not believe one is needed. I have never seen any such support, and the unsupported RS34's I put on my grandfathers KZ operated without issue until the tranny failed some 7 years later. It'll be fine to run pods without a support. I doubt you need to add the extra fab work to your schedule anyway

I really haven’t been burned much. Once on ebay just recently, and once on another forum a couple years ago. Its just fun to exaggerate the realities of ebay a bit.
Both times I made the mistake of buying from a non proven seller.
The 4 screws on the back of the Dyna are for mounting.
No carb support is necessary. If u step up to bigger carbs u will need larger J model boots.
This is an HID I just came across. Great deal.u should try it.

I just bought 1 from Ottakar. His are slightly dif, in that they have a 55watt halogen high beam, which he removes and replaces with an LED. Then u run the led in daytime and the hid for high beam.
This 1 has a sliding mechanism that allows the hid to be used for both high and low beam.
I also bought a new headlight shell from Ottakar, both for $162.
