That's why I asked. It looks like the later generation brackets are longer, and it would seem longer is better for comfort sake. I appreciate you taking a look for me. Otherwise, I have to be "that weirdo" with a tape measure at the dealership sizing up some of the newer sport bikes :P

Ok Adam, got your specs on those passenger pegs. The first generation mounts are 5 1/2" from the centerline of the mounting holes to the center of the footpeg, and they are offset from the sub-frame by 3 1/4". The second gen mounts are 7" long and 4" offset. Also, the second gen mounts are attached to tabs that are vertical and the first gen are angled tabs coming off the sub-frame. These pics should help explain what I mean. First gen is the one attached to the bike and second gen is the one I'm holding.

Awesome Josh, thanks! The little woman has been telling me every few days how nice it would be if the Kz was back together so e could go on rides. If I didn't put passenger pegs on, it wouldn't take long for me to be signing my divorce papers

I'm in the same boat as Nelson, the gf wont go near a bike in any case, so I'm safe. There's always those few girls who ask to be taken out though, I may have to put on a set.

The fact that Brandy rides and so does her father was a big attraction to me back in the day. Birds of a feather....

I like the passenger peg thing, I have been struggling to figure out where to accomidate these, as My lovely Wife, is looking forward to riding with me as much as I am looking forward to riding.

We have been together over 20 years, she goes to the races with me and really enjoys the whole sportbike culture.

Hopefully I'll get to mounting those pegs soon. I had lost the desire to fabricate any more for a while now. A side project has got my juices flowing again. I started to build an easily removable kayak rack for my new pickup, and once I'm done with that I'll tackle the footpegs.

Come on test... you guys are my motivation here!!

Speaking of wife, when I brought the KZ home she said.. I don't see a back rest for me, of course I said there won't be one either... so she went out and bought her own bike..LOL Of course I had to ride it home for her. :)

Installing the footpeg mounts should be a little interesting. I know I'm worried about making sure they're not only at equal hights, but in the same vertical plane and at the same angle (or lack thereof) I may get to my mounts first, so you can learn from my screw ups

I have been practicing on lining up fabricated pieces in three dimensions. Here's some shots of my little side project. Since I bought this truck I haven't found a ladder/pipe/kayak/whatever rack that fits my qualifications. Needs to be light, easily removable, still allows access to the Ramboxes, and follows the lines of the truck. Also I need to add a little storage space since this truck only has a 5'6" bed that is about 50" wide. So here's what I have so far:

My son is almost 9 years old, and he has actually started to display the kind of interest and patience necessary to pick up a little of what I know about building and fabricating. This afternoon he said he was bored, so I asked him if he wanted to help with my project and he lit up. So I handed him the die grinder and some safety glasses to help me prep some weld sites. He did good and stuck with me for almost a whole hour! I'm so excited, because I haven't been able to get him engaged in anything like this for more than 5 minutes before.

I shudder to think what I would have to do to this roto-molded sumbitch to get paint to stick to it.
