I dig this build man. Rearsets are on my shortlist too. Being 6'4 I need to stretch my legs a bit more than the stock position lets me. I hope this mod helps

I didn't have the foresight to take a picture at the time. I was too concerned with getting the bleeding stopped so I could get back to work. It doesn't look like much now since it scabbed over. The hole in my finger was small but deep. Kinda just looks like a typical boo-boo for me now.

My bud at work tells a story about his brother in law who had a similar accident with a high pressure paint sprayer. In his case, his hand filled up with house paint. The ER doc had to lance his hand in a couple of places to drain the paint out.

shoot i hate to even talk about when i screw up and hurt myself,much less tell others about it.

at least the dude that got the paint injection didn't lose his hand.

being as i work for a forklift dealership we are around high pressure hydraulics and it can be very nasty when injected into the skin.

According to the "Occupational Injuries Handbook," oil can penetrate the skin at pressures as low as 100 PSI -
"The force of injection, which can range from 100 to 1000 pounds per square inch, causes the fluid to track along the planes of the tissue and flexor tendon sheath. In this way, it can travel from the fingertip throughout the hand and even proximally into the forearm."

When I was in high school shop class we heard a story of a kid who jammed a blowgun up the butt of another kid. Supposedly blew up his colon!! The story was not confirmed however...

it will ....and it wont...not to side track but ..it unlocks your hips and splays you out to unload the seat some...but it kinda bends the knee a tad..not so bad unless you are older....you still will be stretching your legs when able....much better on that numb hip tall guys get sitting in stock pegs..super cool control wise as you use your heels when hauling ass more now....cause now the heels are near the swingarm pivot..rear end influence point..imo

Thanks, good info there! I definitely find myself shifting my weight around the seat a lot.

MMM new pistons. Tasty! Getting closer to the 1075cc upgrade every day. Lets see, 10.5:1 MTC's, APE K410's and VM29 Smoothies. Sounds like a good combination for a street bike to me. Anyone have a recommendation for valve sizes? Are the 29mm carbs going to hold this setup back? Eventually one of these heads will get a stage one port, but I'm itching to get this setup installed this winter. The blue streak will get a much needed power boost.

Turns out I'm moving to...nowhere. Staying here in NL for now. Should be able to get out at the bike on Sunday, hopefully my Z1E order will be here by then.

are u sure there 10.5:1 ? they look tall in the pic ?
stock valve size will be best for that combo. it will keep the torque low where u want it. u have a zx10 for the high end. keep the kz running where it shines most.

Keen observation Mark. Joe at Pit Stop sells two versions of the 10.5 to 1 pistons. These are for longer duration/higher lift cams. He says not to use them with the stock cams as they will provide too much compression for a street bike. I told him that I wanted what ever set that would be best with those K410 cams, and this is what he said to use.

yeah yeah nice indeed....every one is snapping up those other piston kits too and i can see the savings...i figure i will be doing a bit more specific purchase like you did..and if they sell out of those japan sets no big ...i like the pop tops and had some in an engine with 29's.....way fun.....nice...are you doing any coating...how is the finger....

Adam stopped by my house Sunday...rode a bike and the kids ran around....was here a good bit....nice guy....he rode the MKII

i kicked myself right after they left for not taking a picture or video clip with him on the bike(in flip flops) or us next to the bikes ect....i did not want to get the creepy camera out when they pulled up, and we were just meeting and his wife and kids were running through the garden ect...i all but forgot i had the cameras in the shop loaded to get a bike pic with him....next time...p.s he is the holder of the Moriwaki tip and titanium mid pipe from a daytona Z1 now...let him make it work on that hybrid carbon beast....

when are you doing the engine....there may be a few of us doing small blocks this winter
