i beleave the z1's had a thin shim behind the counter sprocket.it is not used with the offset sprockets.my pingle 630 5/8" offset sprocket ($60),takes up the whole spline.

never mind, found it on Z1....

Front Sprocket Spacer Washer - 1.25mm SS-3

1.25mm Sprocket Spacer with 25mm center - can be used when converting 630 raised boss sprockets from the Z1, KZ900 KZ1000 range to a 530 sprocket - 2 are required. Can be also used on other bikes to off-set the front sprocket. Please insure enough of the front sprocket is on the output shaft spline, and there is clearance for the chain to clear engine cases and frame tubes.

See below for 6mm thick spacer.

Keep in mind that the 530 is the same width as the 630 . there is no clearance advantage unless u go to 525 or less.The 2nd # represents the width.

Yep, fully aware of that fact. I was more thinking in the regards to differnt sprockets and available chain specifications plus colors versus the 630 options.

Here's the new game plan due to difficulties with the availability of 1/2", 18 tooth, offset 530 counter sprocket.

I'm useing a 5/8" 15 tooth front and a 37 tooth rear with 100 link's of chain, my rear wheel is a 2000 zx7, should the wheel be centered in the frame or the swing-arm? I'm interested in those shim's maybe they will help?

Just ordered my sprockets only using a 1/2" offset, same gearing as you have mentioned.

In searching OEM part numbers, turns out the ZX7 and ZX6 swing arms are the same for those years. In your pictures, the chain is not installed so safe to assume "rear with 100 link's " this is what you ended up with after installing, correct?

If above holds true, did you end up on the number 2 mark on the swingarm indicators specified in the repair manual?
NOTE: Brand new chain (non strecthed)of course...

"should the wheel be centered in the frame or the swing-arm?" If your swingarm conversion was accomplished correctly I believe this should be the same... Both my swingarm and center rim come out lined up referenced to the frame... give or take a mm or two anyways.

Since you are already 5/8" offset, these shims would only push your cc sprocket further into the frame for chain clearance.

I'm useing my old non-o-ring 630 chain, yes it was not installed when pics were taken trying to ty up all my loose ends before I wire it so I put the chain on and noticed it rubed a little, as far as the counter shaft sprocket I thought I would try useing a stock sprocket with those shims so I can adjust as needed what is your thoughts.

Even in using the 6mm versions, this wouldn't get your sprocket over enough especially considering how much shaft thread would be left over. I would think this would truly stress out your drive output shaft...

With the 5/8" offset, seems this is aligning correctly which indicates mine will be shy 1/8". In using the 1/2" offset with the shim approach I should be shy of the 5/8" thus leaving enough frame clearance. Or I saty with the 1/2" and just have the rear hub milled down 1/8" or so...

I'll keep everyone updated.

NOTE: The american classix offset is 13.5mm (0.531496")

= .593996" or 15.8075mm or roughly between 9/16 & 5/8!

I think the 1/2" offset is the best choice. there are a lot of obstacles to overcome with the 5/8".
1. being the use of a none o-ring chain to gain more clearance.
2. I had to shim my sprocket cover out to clear the chain. this meant I had to lengthen the shifter shaft as well.
3.chain hits frame.
If u buy an o-ring chain u will have a better chain, which is great, but u may have these same issues due to the extra width?
I bought a 110 chain and cut it down to 98 links.i beleave the zrx arm was 1.5" longer. I have a 16 630 5/8” front and a 77/78 kz rear sprocket(35 teeth) fit the zrx12 rim.

heres my question. If you mill down the hub to line up the sprockets, you would have to find some sort of spacer to make up that lost distance that was milled off, right? What did you use?

No .u make up axle spacers (just had a large aluminum washer made)to shim the rim (and or swingarm)to center, then mill the hub to aligne the sprockets.
