I LOVE those photos! That is a properly ridden GPz! Good work!
Do you run it in 'track days' or is that a class, and if so, what class???

I ride it in a Vintage class where i race.
Unfortunatley (for the others) the way the rules are set up, the 84 GPz has to race against oil cooled GSXRs that have cartridge front forks and proper 17" wheels that can take slicks... The look on their faces on the podium (yes podium) when this 'bicycle' with a 130 tire passes them in the corners!!!!!
I also ride it at track days.. It gets more attention at those. Since im a PRO (been doing this for 8 years) a little handicap like the GPz makes trackdays fun again

Great to see bikes racing the way they were meant to be raced. Bet you get a little head shake out of the corners. Do you race in VRRA? If so, what class?
If you can bring in your own gas to the track, like stated above, with the stock compression, pump gas should be all you need.
I'm planning on going to Shannonville in '09 to watch the screaming hornet sound of the P3 Light Class with about 10 GPz550's, and help a friend there that weekend.

Yeah i just siphon the 87 octane out of my van to fuel the bike
I dont do any of the VRRA rounds.. maybe next year? Just doing the RACE regionals (i race my 600 there the same weekends).
I dont have a steering damper and i dont get any headshake. Am i missing out ???
